On December 16th,the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei collaborated seminar on food security-relatedoccupational claims and sampling inspection was held in our university. Theconference was hosted by School of law, Renmin University of China and FoodSafety Management Collaborative Innovation Center, undertaken by TianjinUniversity of Finance and Economics. Based on the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebeiregional cooperation and development, there was an in-depth discussion on the legalissues concerned with occupational claims in the field of food industries.
The seminar waschaired by Prof. Hou Xinyi, member of the CPPCC and Steering Committee of LegalEducation, Ministry of Education as well as the director of the Modern andContemporary Law Research Center in TUEF. Prof. Chen Canping, Dean of School ofLaw in TUEF, and Prof. Han Dayuan, Dean of School of Law, Renmin University ofChina and Deputy Director of Food Safety Management Collaborative InnovationCenter delivered their speeches respectively.
Director of the StateFood and Drug Administration Law Department Ren Duanping, Director of the FoodSupervision Office of Tianjin Municipal Committee of Market Supervision CuiChunming, Deputy Director of the Legislative Affairs Office in TianjinMunicipal Government Zhang Zhifeng, President of the Tianjin ConsumerAssociation Zhang Zheng attended the meeting and addressed their speeches. Expertsfrom Fengtai Food and Drug Administration, Beijing Food safety Law Research Institute,Advanced Training Institute of State Food and Drug Administration, TianjinPeople's Congress Legislative Research Institute, Tianjin Heping DistrictConsumers Association, Tianjin Green Food Industry Association and other units,associated with more than 30 scholars from the law schools of Renmin Universityof China, Nankai University, East China University of Science and Technology,Tianjin University of Science and Technology, Tianjin University of Finance andEconomics, Hebei University of Economics and Business together with nearly 20 enterpriserepresentatives in food industries attended the meeting and participated in thediscussions.
Food safety concernsthe people's livelihood, which is paid great attention on by both the publicand the nation. Experts and scholars gave constructive comments from different perspectiveson defining the identity and behavior of occupational claimants and promotingthe ordering and standardization of food-related claims, which offersinvaluable advices for the food safety supervision and judicial departments toimprove the relevant laws and policies, and provides new insights for the innovationof regulatory system and for food enterprises to develop relevant decisions.
